The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) aims to recover Rs. 250 billion within two months from tax cases currently pending in courts.

Official sources confirmed that special constitutional benches in the Supreme Court and High Court are now hearing key tax cases daily. The total disputed amount in court is Rs. 850 billion.

The FBR is confident of winning cases worth Rs. 250 billion, where legal standing is reportedly strong. Recently, the board successfully recovered Rs. 20 billion from two large companies.

However, Rs. 200 billion in super tax claims remains unresolved, while Rs. 600 billion is still pending in tribunals. Authorities hope expedited court hearings will improve overall recovery.
