ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has shot down two Indian jets near the Line of Control in response to cross-border missile attacks.

According to official sources, an Indian Su-30MKI was targeted using air-to-air missiles near Akhnoor. Another aircraft was intercepted by the HQ-9 HIMADS system.

The operation followed Indian missile strikes on Kotli, Bahawalpur, Muridke, Bagh and Muzaffarabad. All Pakistani aircraft returned safely.

PTV News quoted security officials as saying that Pakistan’s armed forces were giving a ā€œbefitting replyā€ to the Indian aggression.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar confirmed the incident on Tuesday. He said India had violated international law by targeting civilian areas and had not provided any evidence to back its claims about the Pahalgam attack.

Further developments are expected as both sides are on high alert.
